The first ever Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, Red Rescue Team, is making its way onto the Nintendo Switch Online Game Boy Advance app on August 9 – though without its Blue Rescue Team counterpart. Nintendo of America announced the news today on its social media accounts, complete with a new trailer showing how the GBA game will look on the Switch.
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team both released on the same day back in 2005 in Japan and 2006 internationally for the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS respectively, hence why Blue Rescue Team isn’t also launching on Nintendo Switch Online. Both games were remade for the Nintendo Switch in the form of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX in 2020.
The Nintendo Switch Online classic libraries are available for free to subscribers of the Nintendo Switch Online service with all the classic consoles, barring Nintendo 64, SEGA Genesis and Game Boy Advance, available with the basic tier and the others unlocked in the Expansion Pack.
