Kinoko Inu, an upcoming TV anime based on the manga of the same name, has revealed a new trailer, a new piece of key art, five new cast members, and the official ending theme song performer for the series. The series will broadcast in Japan beginning in October 2024.
The new cast members include:
Mako Komako voiced by Anna Nagase
Itsuki Yara voiced by Takuma Terashima
Plum voiced by Misaki Kuno
Anzu Uehara voiced by Hinano
Tsubasa Uehara voiced by Sayaka Senbongi
IBERIs& performs the ending theme song for the series, which is entitled “Heart b-b-beat!!”.
Tokuma Shoten serialized the original Kinoko Inu manga by Kimama Aoboshi from 2010 – 2022 in their Monthly Comic Ryu seinen manga magazine. Kagetoshi Asano directs the TV anime at animation studio C-Station. Jin Tanaka provides the series composition, Daisuke Endou provides the character designs, and Akiyuki Tateyama provides the music.

Described as a “heartwarming comedy”, the story of Kinoko Inu follows Hotaru Yuuyami, a picture book writer who is brokenhearted after the loss of his beloved family dog, Hanako, until he discovers a strange mushroom creature growing in his garden one day.
