With the new Urusei Yatsura anime officially behind us, it’s time to reminisce about its comedy, its art…and its many, many love interests. Starting in October, you can do just that at an Urusei Yatsura All Stars Exhibition in Tokyo.The immersive event will kick off in the “Pre-Show Corner” (seen above), featuring a new video made especially for the exhibition. From there, make your way through the event space and join Ataru on his “girl hunt”:
The lovely ladies of the series (and Mendo) all have their own area to explore. Concept art shows the hallway design, as well as a peek at the plans for the Ran Area.
Naturally, Lum gets pride of place toward the end of the exhibition, with the biggest showcase (just a short trip down a “warp corridor”). While the exact look of this area is unknown, we do know we’ll be seeing some life-sized Lum standees… which are also being kept under wraps.
A shop at the end of the exhibition will offer a variety of goods, including candy, pins and a series of collectible acrylic charms spelling out the title of the show.
The Urusei Yatsura All Stars Exhibition will take place October 2-14 at Matsuya Ginza in Tokyo. Advance tickets are now on sale for the event.The first season of the new Urusei Yatsura anime adaptation aired for 23 episodes from October 2022 to March 2023, and the second season followed with 23 episodes from January to June 2024. Hideya Takahashi (Keijo!!!!!!!! director) acted as series director alongside Yasuhiro Kimura (2.43: Seiin High School Boys Volleyball Team) with character designs by Naoyuki Asano (Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!) and series compositions written by Yuko Kakihara (The aquatope on white sand). David production handled the animation production.
