Voice actor Rikako Aida (Riko Sakurauchi in Love Live! Sunshine!!) will make her VTuber debut as “Rikyako” in the future. Her official website and staff’s X (formerly Twitter) account announced the news with Rikyako’s character visual (“Rikyako” is one of Aida’s nicknames) on August 8.

“I am very happy to announce that I will be making my VTuber debut!” Aida said on her official X (formerly Twitter) account. “This is a new challenge for me, so I was nervous to tell everyone about it …, but I’m glad you liked it! With the spirit of trying anything anyway! I will do my best to enjoy this one with everyone! Please support me!”Rikyako’s first live streaming is scheduled soon on Rikako Aida’s official YouTube channel.Additionally, Aida’s official website also announced that a live concert to celebrate her solo artist’s fifth anniversary is scheduled to open at the LINE CUBE SHIBUYA, Tokyo, on May 5, 2025. Aida also says on X, “Next year on May 5, I will be doing my fifth-anniversary live concert! I am happy to promise to see you all again! I will do my best to bring you new songs! Please come and see me for sure!”Ticket sales are already available in advance for members of her official fan club “RIKAKO AIDA OFFICIAL MEMBER ‘Us’,” starting August 8. While performing as a member of the Love Live! Sunshine!! franchise’s nine-member unit Aqours, Aida made her solo singer debut from DMM.com and A-Sketch’s music label DMM music in March 2019, releasing one CD single, one digital single, one mini-album, one full album, three EPs, and two live concert DVD/Blu-rays to date.
