It’s almost time for the Spice and Wolf: MERCHANT MEETS THE WISE WOLF anime to enter territory that has yet to be adapted into anime. The Legend of the Pagan Gods arc kicks off on August 19, and the official accounts are getting everyone ready with a new visual and a couple cast additions. Here’s the new visual, which also depicts the new characters:

Elsa Schtingheim voiced by Lynn (Miorine Rembran in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury)
Evan Gyoam voiced by Atsushi Abe (Toma Kamijo in A Certain Magical Index)
Spice and Wolf: MERCHANT MEETS THE WISE WOLF has Takeo Takahashi as chief director and Hijiri Sanpei (Maoyu assistant director) as director at studio Passione. Ami Koshimizu and Jun Fukuyama reprise their roles as Holo and Lawrence, respectively, from the original 2008 anime.Crunchyroll is streaming the series as it airs in Japan, describing the story as such:
Lawrence is a traveling merchant selling various goods from a horse-drawn cart. One day, he arrives at a village and meets a beautiful girl with the ears and tail of an animal! Her name is Holo the Wisewolf and she brings bountiful harvests. She wishes to return to her homeland, and Lawrence offers to take her. Now, the once-lonely merchant and the once-lonely wisewolf begin their journey north.
