Riyoko Ikeda’s revolutionary work The Rose of Versailles celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, bringing with it all sorts of festivities. Now, fans can immerse themselves in the work at an upcoming exhibiton: The Rose of Versailles 50th Anniversary Exhibition -The Rose of Versailles is Eternal-.
The event will introduce fans to the creation and worldview of the series, hosting 180 original pieces of art by Ikeda herself. Commentary from Ikeda, a selection of nostalgic goods, and an introduction to the upcoming 2025 film will also be on display in the event space.
Notably, visitors can also gaze upon a recreation of Lady Oscar’s “once in a lifetime” ballgown:

The Rose of Versailles 50th Anniversary Exhibition -The Rose of Versailles is Eternal- will take place from August 21 to September 2 at Hyogo’s Kobe Hankyu department store, in the 9th floor event space.
