Helper T Cell played by Shota Sometani

Hepatocytel played by Kyoko Fukada

Junior Red Blood Cell played by Rihito Itagaki

Senior Red Blood Cell played by Ryo Kato

Shin Takeda played by Seishiro Kato

Pneumonia Coccus played by Ainosuke Kataoka

Streptococcus Pyogenes played by Shinya Niiro

Staphylococcus Aureus played by Maju Ozawa

???? played by Fukase

Among them, Fukase’s role is the only one not yet revealed. The character is introduced only as “the strongest enemy for the cells.”This will be the second film appearance for Fukase, vocalist of the Japanese rock band SEKAI NO OWARI, as an actor. He made his acting debut with the role of a serial killer in the 2021 suspense film Character, where he won the 45th Japan Academy Award for Best New Actor and the Hochi Film Award for Best Newcomer.”This role was a very difficult one, as the character has both love and hate in him,” said Fukase. “I have not had that much experience in acting, so everyone there was very supportive of me. I think this is a film that both adults and children can enjoy and learn a lot from, so I would like to encourage parents and children to watch it!”

The latest movie poster, where the characters are “multiplying,” is finally complete. The final version, where all 17 characters are gathered together, was released.

Hideki Takeuchi (Thermae Romae live-action film)- directs the live-action Cells at Work! movie, scheduled to open in Japan on December 13, 2024. The main cast members include Mei Nagano as Red Blood Cell, Takeru Sato as White Blood Cell, Sadao Abe as Shigeru Urushizaki, and Mana Ashida as Niko Urushizaki. The movie is described as such:

The smallest protagonist in film history – a human cell! There are a staggering 37 trillion cells in the human body. Red blood cells that carry oxygen, white blood cells that fight bacteria, and countless other cells work tirelessly day and night to protect your health and life. High school student Niko (Mana Ashida) lives with her father, Shigeru (Sadao Abe). Because of Niko’s diligent nature and her healthy lifestyle, the cells inside her body are always working joyfully. Meanwhile, inside Shigeru’s body, the cells are always complaining, exhausted from the brutal working environment, as he leads an irregular and unhealthy life. On the outside they may look like a happy father and daughter, but on the inside their bodily environments couldn’t be more different. As their lively days go on, pathogens start to sneak up on their bodies… The most epic battle in the history of human cells, with the future of Niko and Shigeru at stake, is about to begin!
