The supernatural and sci-fi hit home in the latest trailer for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Yukinobu Tatsu’s DAN DA DAN manga. The third trailer for the series revealed a golden ball of information, including a preview of the previously announced opening theme song “Otonoke” from Creepy Nuts, the unveiling of the ending theme song and announcing that the series will premiere on October 3.

The ending theme song for DAN DA DAN is “TAIDADA” from Japanese rock group Zutto Mayonaka de ii Noni., also known by their shortened name ZUTOMAYO.
The original DAN DA DAN manga by Yukinobu Tatsu is serialized in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ digital manga magazine since April 2021. An English language version is available from VIZ Media. Fuga Yamashiro directs the TV anime series at anime studio Science SARU with Hiroshi Seko providing the scripts, Naoyuki Onda on character design, and kensuke ushio on music. The series premieres on October 3 in Japan.
Theatrical screenings of the first three episodes, titled DAN DA DAN: First Encounter are set to debut globally beginning on August 31 in Asia, September 7 in Europe and September 13 in North America, with MBS partnering with ADN, GKIDS and MUSE for the release.
Crunchyroll is set to stream the series when it premieres in October, describing DAN DA DAN as such:
This is a story about Momo, a high school girl who comes from a family of spirit mediums, and her classmate Okarun, an occult fanatic. After Momo rescues Okarun from being bullied, they begin talking. However, an argument ensues between them since Momo believes in ghosts but denies aliens exist, and Okarun believes in aliens but denies ghosts exist.
To prove to each other what they believe in is real, Momo goes to an abandoned hospital where a UFO has been spotted and Okarun goes to a tunnel rumored to be haunted. To their surprise, they each encounter overwhelming paranormal activities that transcend comprehension. Amid these predicaments, Momo awakens her hidden power and Okarun gains the power of a curse to overcome these new dangers! Their fateful love begins as well!?
