On the third day of live-action One Piece castings, the official X (formerly Twitter) account for the series dusted off one last crew member — fan-favorite character Nefertari Vivi. The series announced that Charithra Chandran will play Baroque Works agent Miss Wednesday while Chandran confirmed that she will be playing Vivi, the Princess of Alabasta who begins her role in the story as Miss Wednesday. Charithra Chandran is a Scottish actor best known for her roles as Sabina Pleasance in Alex Rider and Edwina Sharma in Bridgerton.
“I feel incredibly grateful to Oda-sensei for trusting me with the role of Vivi,” Chandran says in the above video. “I know how much she means to all of you and I’m going to work my hardest to do her justice and make you all proud.”
Other new castings announced this week include Katey Sagal (Leela in Futurama) as Dr. Kureha and Mark Harelik (God in Preacher) as Dr. Hiriluk, and Sendhil Ramamurthy will be playing Nefertari Cobra.The first season of the live-action One Piece series debuted in August 2023.
