Later this year, the magical girls of Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Magia Record will return in Magia Exedra: the latest mobile game from the magical girl franchise. For this year’s Magia Day, the game shared a lot of new treats: new art, two character trailers, gameplay info and news of a manga tie-in!
First up, the return of two familiar characters. Check out the trailers for two of the story’s veteran magical girls: Mami Tomoe and Nanami Yachiyo!
Junichiro Taniguchi, character designer and chief animation director for the Madoka Magica anime series and films, has also penned this new artwork, featuring familiar faces from across the anime and game timelines.
We also get a peek at some screenshots from the game, detailing what the combat system will look like.
Last but not least, we’ll be getting a manga, too! Writer and illustrator PAPA, who penned the tie-in manga Magia Report for Magia Record, will return for this new series. A promotional image shows Name (our blank Magical Girl player character) and A-Q (the mysterious green Kyubey variant):
SINoALICE developer Pokelabo has teamed up with Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story’s f4samurai on Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra, with Aniplex set to distribute the game sometime this year. The game will be released in English on Steam.
