For the first time in the series’ history outside of Japan, Kazuma Kiryu’s first story will come to a Nintendo console! During the Nintendo Partner showcase today, Sega of America and Ryu Ga Gotoku studio today announced that the 2016 Yakuza Kiwami game will release on the Nintendo Switch on October 24. A trailer was also released showing the game and introducing Kiryu’s first story in the epic saga.
Yakuza Kiwami was originally released for PS3 and PS4 in Japan on January 21, 2016, as a remake of the first Yakuza video game, but following the play style of the Yakuza 0 prequel. The original PS2 Yakuza 1 and Yakuza 2 games were remastered for the Wii U in 2013 under the title Ryu ga Gotoku 1 & 2 HD for Wii U, though it was only released in Japan.Yakuza Kiwami for Nintendo Switch launches on October 24, the same day the Like a Dragon: Yakuza live-action adaptation releases on Amazon Prime.
