The previously announced continuation of the decades-old Mashin Hero Wataru anime franchise, titled Mashin Sozoden Wataru, today announced that the new series will begin airing on Japanese television in January 2025. A teaser trailer and visual, along with main cast members, production staff and character designs, were also revealed.

Yumi Kamakura (Inazuma Eleven Ares) directs Mashin Sozoden Wataru at studio Bandai Namco Pictures, with series composition by Yoichi Kato (Duel Masters!!), character designs by Mayuko Nakano (The Vampire Dies in No Time) and Yoshinori Yumoto (Daily Lives of High School Boys) and music by Ryuichi Takada, Keiichi Hirokawa, Oliver Good and Keita Inoue.

The original Mashin Eiyuden Wataru anime series was produced by studio Sunrise and aired on Japanese television from April 1988 to March 1989, followed by two sequel series in 1990 and 1997, respectively, and three anime OVAs releasing between them. A nine-episode web series titled Mashin Eiyuden Wataru: Shichi Kon no Ryujinmaru began streaming on YouTube in 2020.
A manga version of Mashin Sozoden Wataru will begin serialization in the January 2025 edition of Monthly CoroCoro Comic magazine on December 13.
