The Kaiju No. 8 Special Exhibition—a themed installation featuring some 120 pieces of art inspired by Naoya Matsumoto’s hit shonen action / science fiction manga and its TV anime adaptation—is heading to the Gallery AaMo venue in Tokyo Dome City, Tokyo, Japan from September 13 – November 10, 2024. Ahead of that, a new “100 Views of Monsters” illustration (below) has been revealed for the exhibit.

The illustration features the members of the Kaiju Defense Force facing off against a giant monster assaulting the Tokyo Dome, and in real life the artwork measures an impressive 2.4 meters (7.8 feet) high by 3.1 meters (10.1 feet) wide. It has also been revealed that a 96-page exhibition booklet filled with graphics, illustrations and comments by Matsumoto will be for sale at the venue.Additionally, six sites at Tokyo Dome City will feature special collaboration menu food and beverage items for purchase, with each purchase also gaining the customer one of six original collectible coasters (selected at random) as a bonus.

Shueisha serializes the original Kaiju No. 8 manga in their Shonen Jump+ digital manga magazine. Viz Media also publishes an English language version of the series. Shigeyuki Miya directs the Kaiju No. 8 TV anime at animation studio Production I.G. Ichiro Okouchi provides the series composition, Tetsuya Nishio serves as chief animation director and character designer, Mahiro Maeda provides the kaiju design, Shinji Kimura serves as art director, and Yuta Bandoh provides the music.
