The ghost of Rio’s past continues to haunt him in the second season of Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles, which announced that the continuing anime adaptation of the light novel series, written by Yuri Kitayama and illustrated by Riv, will be premiering on October 7. To commemorate the announcement, the main trailer for Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles Season 2 was released previewing the opening theme song “Auftakt” by Aguri Onishi.

Hiroshi Kubo directs the Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles TV anime at animation studios TMS Entertainment and WAO World. Osamu Yamazaki serves as supervising director and provides the series composition, Kyoko Yufu provides the character designs, and Yasuyuki Yamazaki provides the music.
The original Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles light novels are written by Yuri Kitayama, illustrated by Riv, and published in Japan by Hobby Japan under their HJ Bunko imprint. J-Novel Club publishes an English-language version of the series.
Crunchyroll will be streaming the series as it airs in Japan from October 7. The streamer describes the first season as such:
His past life and current life are intersecting–a boy with memories of two lives faces his destiny!
