The official website for the upcoming live-action film adaptation of Yui Tamura’s Yano-kun no Futsu no Hibi (“Mr. Yano’s ordinary days”) manga today released a main trailer.The clip features two songs from the film — the theme song “Yellow Yellow” by FANTASTICS and insert song “Staying with you” by Travis Japan. The latter is revealed for the first time in this trailer.
The main poster visual has also been revealed. The headline reads: “Love starts from bad luck!?”
The live-action film Yano-kun no Futsu no Hibi is set to release in Japan on November 15, 2024. An anime adaptation is also in the works according to Eiga.com. Yusei Yagi, a member of Japanese dance and vocal group FANTASTICS, plays the title character, Tsuyoshi Yano, as his first feature film leading role. Meanwhile, Anji Ikehata plays the main heroine, Kiyoko Yoshida. Takehiko Shinjo, who has worked on may live-action film adaptations of popular shojo manga, such as Paradise Kiss (2011), Kiyoku Yawaku (2013), Daytime Shooting Star (2017), and And Yet, You Are So Sweet (2023), is attached to direct. The film’s official website describes the story as follows:
Yoshida, the class chairperson who is a worrier, can’t help but worry about Yano, who comes to school every day covered in injuries for some reason. One day, Yoshida and her best friends investigated the reason and discovered that he was a very unlucky boy. Moreover, because of his ‘super unlucky constitution,’ Yano is unable to lead a ‘normal high school life.’ When Yoshida finds out about this, she decides to support him to the best of her ability.
