For the first time in over a decade, Kyoto Animation will hold a livestream on the anime studio’s YouTube channel to announce its 2025 slate of new releases. The stream will be held on September 21 at 9:00 p.m. Japan time, and voice actor Daisuke Ono, who played Kyon in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and other characters in various KyoAni productions, will narrate the special live presentation.
Kyoto Animation first teased the new release presentation stream on September 13 with a simple graphic in a post on X (formerly Twitter). This will be the second time the studio has held a livestream to announce a new series, with the first time announcing the confirmation of Free! – Iwatobi Swim Club as a full anime series in April 2013 on Japanese video streaming site NicoNico Douga.There has been no confirmation on the details of the presentation as of this writing.
