Flash back to 2015 and you may recall a little PS Vita action-RPG called Freedom Wars. Bandai Namco Entertainment put a lot of promotion behind it at the time, and now that we’re approaching its 10th anniversary there’s a new version on the way.Bandai Namco revealed plans for Freedom Wars Remastered today, with the HD version eyeing a release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. The updated action-RPG will feature new difficulty options, balancing, and updated weapon crafting and upgrade systems. Naturally, there are also some visual improvements to look forward to, including 60 FPS gameplay and 4K resolution.

Freedom Wars Remastered is set to launch on January 10, 2025. Here’s how Bandai Namco describes the story:
In the distant future, humanity is in a struggle to survive. Pollution has devastated the planet, and the remnants of humanity are divided amongst city-sized prisons called Panopticons. So scarce are resources that living itself is a crime and those born are immediately given a million years of prison time. Dubbed “Sinners” the only option other than awaiting death in prison is to fight for freedom with allies for resources, to rescue citizens from abduction by rival enemies, or take up arms against other enemy Sinners.
