Following the broadcast of the final episode of the Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian TV anime, the official accounts for the Ryota Ito-directed series announced that a second season is already underway and will continue to adapt the light novels starting from volume four. A special video was released to commemorate the announcement of season two alongside illustrations from light novel illustrator Momoco and manga illustrator Saho Tenamachi, as well as a comment from light novel author SunSunSun.

Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian is directed by Ryota Ito (Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie), who also serves as series composer, at studio Doga Kobo alongside Yuhei Murota (Love Live! series) as character designer and chief animation director. Dates and details on the second season are not confirmed.Crunchyroll is simulcasting the anime and describes the story as such:
Alya is a transfer student enjoying popularity at her new high school, often sporting a cold shoulder while earning high marks in class. She ignores her nerdy classmate, Kuze Masachika, except for when she blurts out a flirtatious line to him in Russian. Little does she know, Kuze understands Russian, though he pretends not to.
