An official website and X (formerly Twitter) account opened today announced that a TV anime adaptation of party game Murder Mystery of the Dead is in the works for a November 13 broadcast on TOKYO MX and ABC Television in Japan.
A trailer and a key visual were revealed, along with the following cast members:

Tomohiro Ishii directs Murder Mystery of the Dead, with series composition by Giggle Akiguchi and scripts by Teren Mikami. Akiguchi and Hideki Morikawa of Group SNE and cosaic are credited as original creators. The game’s official website describes the plot, which takes place over approximately 3.5 hours with 7-8 players:
In the year 20XX, civilization has collapsed under a rampant zombie virus. A man in a white coat appears in a survivor community and announces, “We’ve discovered an antibody that will prevent zombification!”
He is found murdered. Attacks by “zombie believers” are on the rise all over the place. Rumors of a mysterious crazed strangler. Survivors disappear one after another, and a strange singing voice can be heard from underground every night…
The anime will follow six girls solving murder cases that occur in Tokyu Kabukicho Tower, and a special program with the voice cast will be streamed live on September 23.
