Following the anime’s announcement last month, a new video released for From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman today announced the casting of Hiroaki Hirata (Sanji in One Piece) as protagonist Beryl Gardinant, a self-proclaimed “humble old man” and sword instructor.
The fantasy adventure series is currently scheduled to begin airing in April 2025.
Based on the light novels by Shigeru Sagasaki and Tetsuhiro Nabeshima, Akio Kazumi (Loner Life in Another World) directs From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman at studios Passione and Hayabusa Film, with series composition by Kunihiko Okada (The Eminence in Shadow scriptwriter), character designs and chief animation direction by Satsuki Hayasaki (Yatogame-chan Kansatsu Nikki) and music by Yasuharu Takanashi (Fairy Tail).
