The official website for KING OF PRISM -Dramatic PRISM.1-, the compilation film based on the KING OF PRISM -Shiny Seven Stars- TV series that aired in 2019, has announced that the film will also be screened in large formats such as 4DX, ULTRA 4DX and ScreenX from October 25.
4DX is a format equipped with various effects such as seat movement, wind, mist, scent, and smoke, while ScreenX is a three-sided multi-projection system that projects images onto the front screen as well as the left and right walls. And ULTRA 4DX is a screening format that combines 4DX and ScreenX. While major foreign films and live documentaries have been screened in Japan in the past, this is the first time that a Japanese anime film has been screened at the ScreenX theaters.

KING OF PRISM -Dramatic PRISM.1-, the first feature film in four years from the KING OF PRISM anime franchise, opened in Japan on August 16, 2024. The film centers on a new Prism Show Championship, titled “PRISM.1”. Selected members from both Edel Rose and Schwarz Rose compete in a number of performances. The film is re-edited as “Dramatic PRISM.1,” a special program featuring an “exclusive live” broadcast of the show. In addition to the large format screenings, revival screening of the first two films, KING OF PRISM by PrettyRhythm (2016) and KING OF PRISM -PRIDE the HERO- (2017), will be held in seven theaters from October 8 to 10.

The KING OF PRISM franchise originally launched in January 2016 as a spin-off to the 2013-2014 TV anime Pretty Rhythm: RainbowLive, the third installment of the Pretty series co-produced by Tatsunoko Production and Dong Woo Animation. Its first film KING OF PRISM by Pretty Rhythm released in January 2016, and its sequel KING OF PRISM: Pride the Hero followed in June 2017. Its third installment, KING OF PRISM: Shiny Seven Stars screened in theaters first in four chapters from March to May 2019, and its 12-episode TV series edition aired from April to July 2019. And KING OF PRISM ALL STARS – Prism Show☆Best 10 -, a compilation film featuring the Prism Show idols’ stage performance scenes selected from the 29 songs in the film series, released in January 2020. After appearing in the Prism King Cup representing Edel Rose, and getting a glimpse of what it was like to a be a future Prism Star, Ichijo Shin entered Kakyoin Academy’s High School division in spring and became a first-year high school student. Koji, Hiro, and Kazuki from Over The Rainbow left Edel Rose and established a new agency.Meanwhile, after having the title of Prism King stolen by Hiro, the leader of Schwarz Rose, Norizuki Jin, proposes PRISM.1, which would decide a new king other than Prism King. He then announces that Schwarz Rose and Edel Rose will be competing with each other.
