As previously reported in July, the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha anime franchise officially launched its 20th anniversary project on October 1, 2024. Exactly 20 years ago, on October 1, 2004, the first episode of the TV anime first season aired in Japan.The project’s official website opened with a first memorial visual featuring the protagonist, Nanoha Takamachi, and Fate Testarossa. Items using this visual, such tapestry, chara fine graph, and acrylic stands, will be available at KING AMUSEMENT CREATIVE’s Kinkurido Store from October 8.
Meanwhile, Takuya Fujima, the illustrator of the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid manga series, has also posted a commemorative illustration on his official X (formerly Twitter).
The anime franchise’s official YouTube channel will start streaming the TV anime first season, one episode per week, for free starting October 10.Additionally, TV-edited versions of two films — Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The MOVIE 1st (2010) and Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The MOVIE 2nd A’s (2012) — will stream on various digital platforms in Japan including Amazon Prime Video and Hulu from October 5. The former is based on the anime franchise’s first TV series aired in 2004, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, while the latter is based on the second TV series aired in 2005, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A’s.
