We’re just three days away from the return of Ranma 1/2! The Rumiko Takahashi classic is getting new life this season, and everyone is preparing for the premiere. There are even live events planned for the big day—but first, we’re taking a look at the premiere episode.A new preview for the first episode, titled “Ranma Arrives,” gives us a first look at the action as the series commences:

Veteran voice actor Koichi Yamadera (Spike Spiegel in Cowboy Bebop, Inspector Zenigata in Lupin the 3rd) will appear in the first episode as the tour guide at the cursed springs of Jusenkyo.
Also, between October 15-31, commuters passing through Tokyo’s Ueno Station will be treated to a variety of Ranma 1/2 collaborations. The station, which is close to Ueno Zoo (notable as a home for pandas), will project visuals from the series on a 100m-long screen set up on Platform 13. Photo spots will be set up around the station, and Kappei Yamaguchi (the voice of Ranma) will present station announcements.Early One Piece anime director Konosuke Uda is directing Ranma 1/2 at MAPPA with series composition written by Kimiko Ueno (Delicious in Dungeon), character designs by Hiromi Taniguchi (FLCL Alternative costume designer) and music from Kaoru Wada (Inuyasha).Ranma 1/2 premieres on Japanese TV on October 5 at 24:55, effectively 12:55 AM on October 6 with Netflix set to stream episodes immediately after broadcast.
