If there’s one easy way to get people hooked on a new anime, especially for an original series like Negative Positive Angler, it’s through a catchy opening song. Fortunately, we don’t need to trawl through the latest production from studio NUT (DECA-DENCE) to put “Ito” by Van de Shop on loop, since a creditless version of the sequence is now available to watch below.

Yutaka Uemura (Saga of Tanya the Evil) directs Negative Positive Angler at studio NUT, with series composition by Tomohiro Suzuki (One-Punch Man), character designs and chief animation direction by Hiromi Taniguchi (Ranma 1/2 remake) and music by Tomoki Kikuya (BOCCHI THE ROCK!).
Crunchyroll is simulcasting the anime and describes the story:
Tsunehiro’s life isn’t easy. After a doctor gives him two years to live and debt collectors come knocking, he falls from a bridge. In the knick of time, Hana and her crew spot Tsunehiro and pull him to safety. Before returning, they anchor offshore to fish and Tsunehiro catches a huge sea bass in a bout of beginner’s luck. As his apartment building crumbles, Tsunehiro’s new life begins to unfold!
