Vocalist sana’s solo project sajou no hana released its fourth digital single song “Awaku Kasuka” (“Pale and Faint”) on October 17, as well as released the song’s music video on their official YouTube channel. The pop tune is now featured as the opening theme for the TV anime The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor. This is sajou no hana’s second theme song work in the fall 2024 season, following “Hydrate,” the ending theme for the fifth season of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?.

Sajou no hana was originally formed in 2018 as a three-member band consisting of vocalist sana, keyboardist Sho Watanabe, and bassist Tatsuya Kitani (JUJUTSU KAISEN Season 2 theme song). In December 2023, the band announced they would move on to become a solo music project centering on sana. While leaving the band, Watanabe and Kitani have supported the project through sound production. Watanabe additionally wrote and composed “Hydrate” and “Awaku Kasuka.”This is sajou no hana’s first animated music video. It depicts a story where the main character, a young girl, opens up the future by herself while changing her facial expressions. Sana wrote on her official X (formerly Twitter), “Please listen to it again and again, feeling what is more important to you than correctness…”

The TV anime adaptation of Sarasa Nagase’s romance fantasy light novel series The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor premiered in Japan on October 9, 2024. Crunchyroll is now streaming the anime for members in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, India and Southeast Asia.Crunchyroll describes the series as such:
