The 1st anniversry livestream held for The Apothecary Diaries anime on TOHO’s official YouTube channel today showed off a brand-new trailer for Season 2, which confirmed a January 10, 2025 release date and a continuous two-cour broadcast (i.e. roughly half a year) for the much-anticipated sequel. Crunchyroll previously confirmed that it will stream the new series.
A new key visual was also unveiled, along with another seasonal visual featuring fall cosmos flowers and the final piece of halloween art.

Based on the light novels by Natsu Hyuuga and Touko Shino, The Apothecary Diaries is directed by Norihiko Naganuma (The Ancient Magus’ Bride), who also serves as series composer, and assistant-directed by Akinori Fudesaka (Tsuredure Children) at TOHO animation STUDIO and OLM.

Maomao lived a peaceful life with her apothecary father. Until one day, she’s sold as a lowly servant to the emperor’s palace. But she wasn’t meant for a compliant life among royalty. So when imperial heirs fall ill, she decides to step in and find a cure! This catches the eye of Jinshi, a handsome palace official who promotes her.
