The stage play adaptation of Yoshio Sawai’s surreal comedy manga series Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, titled Cho Hajike Stage Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, finally kicked off at Theater 1010 in Tokyo on October 23. The play is scheduled to perform 13 shows until October 31, and all the tickets have already sold out according to Ticket Pia.
Ahead of the opening, the play’s dress rehearsal was opened to Japanese media, and Enterstage and Oricon News have posted their video reports on YouTube.

The original manga series Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from February 2001 to November 2005, then was followed by its sequel Shinsetsu Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo from December 2005 to July 2007. Toei Animation’s TV anime adaptation aired for 76 episodes from November 2003 to May 2005.Toei Animation’s official English website describes the series as such:
In the year 300X, an emperor rules the world. To prove his authority over the people, the emperor starts a “Hair Hunt”, where he tries to take the hair of all of its citizens.
