The feature film is based on Yasuda’s independent 3DCG short film Make Love released on February 8, 2020. The two-and-a-half-minute short was selected as an award-winning work in the 29th CG Animation Contest, Japan’s oldest CG animation contest. Yasuda serves as director/screenplay writer, and Yasuda Gensho Studio by Xenotoon, a 3D studio jointly established by Yasuda and Xenotoon, works on anime production.The main voice cast members include Atsumi Tanezaki (Frieren in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End) as No. 0, Shun Horie (Kazuya Kinoshita in Rent-a-Girlfriend) as Akira, Toshiki Masuda (Chris Redgrave in HIGH CARD) as Kunihito Obayashi and Sora Amamiya (Aqua in KONOSUBA -God’s blessing on this wonderful world!) as Akane Sachimura.Synopsis:

The story takes place in the near future: Akira Mizutamari, a scientific genius who succeeded in developing and commercializing SALT, a robot that supports people’s lives, finds himself stuck in a rut when all of his new inventions fail. After hearing from a friend that he can “power up” by creating a girlfriend, he does literally that and scientifically creates an “artificial” girlfriend named “No. Zero”. Torn between her programmed emotions and her growing feelings, No. Zero starts to waver. Is it “love” that buds between her and Akira, who is unaccustomed to communicating with others, or perhaps something else……?
