“When I received the offer, I had just finished reading the original manga, so it felt like fate,” Hoshino said of the song on the anime’s official website. “I enjoyed reading it very much, so I was very excited to be able to write the ending theme song for this anime.” The theme of the song is “family.” He said, “The production staff gave me the message to use ‘family’ as the theme, so I wrote a song about my idea of family, keeping in mind the sense of family value that the story has. I had previously composed a song called ‘Family Song’ on the same theme, but I think I was able to create something completely different with this ‘Comedy’.” The music video for “Comedy” depicts a form of a certain “family” in which Hoshino and the mysterious creatures live together and go about their daily lives.
