Since 1913, the all-female Takarazuka Revue has put on original plays, adaptations and musical revues with their own unique style of beautiful spectacle. Next year, the Castlevania video game series will get the ‘zuka treatment with a brand-new stage adaptation.Titled Castlevania -Awakening Under the Moonlight- (Akumajo Dracula -Gekka no Kakusei-), the stage adaptation tells a brand new story set in the universe of the hit game series. The Revue’s Flower Troupe, currently led by Sea Towaki and Misaki Hoshizora, will perform the show. Kei Suzuki, who staged the Revue’s adaptations of Ace Attorney and The Rose of Versailles, will write and direct.
Castlevania -Awakening Under the Moonlight- premieres June 7 at the Takarazuka Grand Theater in Hyogo Prefecture, where it will run until July 20. It will then run at the Tokyo Takarazuka Grand Theater from August 16 to September 28.
