Toho Animation returns to produce the two Haikyu!! FINAL anime films with Production I.G continuing on the animation production. Susumu Mitsunaka worked as director and screenwriter, Takahiro Kishida as character designer and Takahiro Chiba as chief animation director. The first film, titled HAIKYU!! The Dumpster Battle, was released in Japan on February 16, with Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment releasing the film worldwide on May 30. No date for the second film has been announced as of yet.Haruichi Furudate published the original Haikyu!! manga series in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from 2012 to 2020 for a total of 45 volumes.
