Celebrating four years since the beloved donghua first graced our screens on October 31, 2020, the official accounts for Heaven Official’s Blessing today unveiled a first-look trailer for the previously announced short film, for which a release date is yet to be confirmed, along with a special anniversary promo video and artwork.

From bilibili and Haoliners Animation League, Heaven Official’s Blessing first debuted during the Fall 2020 season, with a simulcast on Funimation. The first season ran for 11 episodes, all adapted from the original novel by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu, as well as an additional special episode. A 12-episode second season followed and was originally released between October 2023 and January 2024.
Crunchyroll streams both seasons with English subs and dub, describing the overall story like so:
Xie Lian, crown prince of Xian Le Kingdom, ascends to Heaven despite successive demotions. However, he accidentally breaks the Gold Palace of heavenly officials. With no human worshiping him, Xie Lian must descend to the secular world to exorcise ghosts.
