The official website for the upcoming TV anime Medalist released its latest third trailer featuring the ending song “Atashi no Dress” (“My Dress”) by the four-piece rock band Neguse. The clip also announced the anime is officially set to premiere in Japan as part of the TV Asahi “NUMAnimation” programming block on January 4, 2025.

Neguse was formed in Nagoya in August 2020, and their motto is “Smile.” “Atashi no Dress” is their first anime theme song work.Message from Neguse:

Yasutaka Yamamoto (Aharen-san wa Hakarenai) directs the Medalist TV anime at animation studio ENGI, while Jukki Hanada (Love Live!) provides the series composition and scripts and Chinatsu Kameyama (In Another World with My Smartphone 2) provides the character designs.

The original Medalist manga by TSURUMAIKADA is serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon manga magazine since May 2020, releasing 11 tankobon volumes to date in Japan. Kodansha USA, which releases the manga’s English language edition, describes the first volume:
Inori is a little girl who dreams of becoming a figure skater. Yet, the obstacles to this dream feel insurmountable: Inori’s already “too old” (she’s 11); she’s always had trouble at school; and, worst of all, her older sister’s skating dreams ended in failure, so her mother is dead set against putting her other daughter through a similar experience. Still, the rink is the only place Inori can be herself, and she’s out on the ice when a fateful meeting takes place.
