Ahead of a November 13, 2024 premiere on Japanese television, the official accounts for the Murder Mystery of the Dead anime unveiled a second full trailer that introduces sleuthing suspects to the tune of the series’ opening song, “Kyozo” by Mixstgirls.

Tomohiro Ishii directs Murder Mystery of the Dead, with series composition by Giggle Akiguchi and scripts by Teren Mikami. Akiguchi and Hideki Morikawa of Group SNE and cosaic are credited as original creators. The game’s official website describes the plot, which takes place over approximately 3.5 hours with 7-8 players:
In the year 20XX, civilization has collapsed under a rampant zombie virus. A man in a white coat appears in a survivor community and announces, “We’ve discovered an antibody that will prevent zombification!”
He is found murdered. Attacks by “zombie believers” are on the rise all over the place. Rumors of a mysterious crazed strangler. Survivors disappear one after another, and a strange singing voice can be heard from underground every night…
The anime will follow six girls solving murder cases that occur in Tokyu Kabukicho Tower.
