The official accounts for the upcoming live-action movie adaptation of Hiromasa Okujima’s Baban Baban Ban Vampire comedy manga series announced three new cast members today.
Gordon Maeda (Yatota Yaguchi in the Blue Period live-action film) plays the role of Nagayoshi Mori, a vampire who is the elder brother of Ranmaru Mori and holds a long-standing grudge against him.

Shinosuke Mitsushima (Heki in the Kingdom live-action film) plays the role of Umetaro Sakamoto, the homeroom teacher of Rihito Tatsuno and Aoi Shinozuka, who has been pursuing Ranmaru as a vampire hunter at night for many years.

Mandy Sekiguchi (former member GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE and EXILE) plays the role of Ken Shinozuka / Franken, Aoi’s older brother who is the leader of a gang of school delinquents.

As reported, the film has already cast Ryo Yoshizawa (Sougo Okita in the Gintama live-action films) as 450-year-old vampire Ranmaru Mori, Rihito Itagaki (Norman in THE PROMISED NEVERLAND live-action film) as Rihito Tatsuno, whom Ranmaru is after for his blood, and Nanoka Hara (Suzume Iwato in Suzume) as Rihito’s first love, Aoi Shinozuka.The Shinji Hamasaki-directed adaptation will open in Japan on February 14, 2025.

As previously reported, the manga’s TV anime adaptation is also in the works for a January 2025 premiere.The manga, whose genre is categorized as “BL (Bloody Love-Comedy),” has been serialized in Akita Shoten’s Bessatsu Shonen Champion. The story centers on Ranmaru Mori, a live-in part-timer at a long-established public bathhouse, whose true identity is a 450-year-old vampire. He is in search of the ultimate taste, “the blood of an 18-year-old virgin,” and continues to protect the virginity of the only son of the bathhouse, 15-year-old Rihito. However, when Rihito reaches puberty, he falls in love at first sight with a girl in the same class! Ranmaru’s desperate plan to stop him from losing his virginity begins…!
