The official accounts for the upcoming live-action film adaptation of Karin Anzai’s romantic comedy shojo manga series It Takes More Than a Pretty Face to Fall in Love (known as Kao Dake ja Suki ni Narimasen in Japan) released a teaser trailer and poster visual today introducing the four main cast members. Actor and singer-songwriter Ryubi Miyase (Akira Ohmi in the Lovesick Ellie live-action film) is cast as the male protagonist, Kanato Ugo. Fashion model and actor Rinka Kumada (KAede Kagaya in the Otona Najimi live-action film) plays the main heroine, Sana Chiken.

The main cast also include Sota Nakajima (FANTASTICS) as Ryo Doigaki, an important character involved in their romance, and Reia Yonekura as Yuzuri Nohara, who loves her best friend, Sana.The manga author Anzai has posted an illustration inspired by the four main cast members on her official X (formerly Twitter).
The live-action film It Takes More Than a Pretty Face to Fall in Love is set to release in Japan on March 7, 2025. Saiji Yakumo, best known for his directorial works for the Touken Ranbu live-action film series, serves as the director on a screenplay by Kisa Miura.Anzai’s original manga series is serialized in Hakusensha’s Hano to Yume shojo manga magazine since July 2020, releasing 11 tankobon volumes to date.Seven Seas Entertainment will begin releasing the manga’s English edition in February 2025, and describes the series:
