The Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin video game is celebrating its fourth anniversary with three new announcements: a new smartphone game and a new game for home consoles are in-development along with a sequel to the 2024 TV anime adaptation.An original drawing by Sakuna character designer Ryota Murayama (above) and a teaser trailer for the game titled Sakuna Chronicles: Kokorowa and the Gears of Creation (below) have been released to celebrate these announcements. At the time of this reporting, no further details on the new games and new TV anime season have been revealed.
Based on the 2020 action RPG developed by Edelweiss, Masayuki Yoshihara directs the Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin TV anime at animation studio P.A.WORKS. Jukki Hanada provides the series composition, Mio Fujishima provides the character designs, and Yoshiaki Fujisawa provides the music.XSEED Games already announced plans to publish the console game in the west.
