An official website and X (formerly Twitter) account opened today revealed that a TV anime adaptation of The Catcher in the Ballpark! (Ballpark de Tsukamaete!) rom-com manga is in the works for a planned 2025 release. A teaser trailer and visual were unveiled, along with the series’ main cast and staff.
As previewed below, Fairouz Ai (Kikoru in Kaiju No. 8) voices Ruriko and Satoshi Inomata voices Murata.

Based on the manga by Tatsuro Suga, Junichi Kitamura (Fluffy Paradise) directs The Catcher in the Ballpark! anime at studio EMT Squared, with series composition by Shigeru Murakoshi (I Parry Everything), character designs by Fumio Iida and music by MONACA (Shangri-La Frontier).
The anime’s official website describes the story (translated):
“Am I your type, Onii-san~?”
One day at a baseball stadium, a gyaru selling beer approaches!? But she’s actually a super innocent and kind-hearted girl…♡
The setting is a pro-league baseball stadium! Many people gather there every day to work and laugh together, and human drama is born there — it’s almost like a town!
So, why not become a “resident” of that town?!
A romantic-comedy full of laughs and tears, dedicated to all those involved in professional baseball!
