From the government grind to a royal one, things aren’t easy for Kenzaburo. The latest trailer for From Bureaucrat to Villainess: Dad’s Been Reincarnated!, also known as Akuyaku Reijo Tensei Oji-san in Japan, was released today, confirming a January 9 premiere as well as three new cast members. Alongside the trailer, a brand new key visual was unveiled of Grace looking up at herself when she was Kenzaburo.

From Bureaucrat to Villainess: Dad’s Been Reincarnated! has been serialized since March 2020 by Shonen Gahosha in their Young King Ours GH seinen manga magazine. The story of the series follows Kenzaboro Tondabayashi, a 52-year-old man who finds himself reincarnated in the role of Grace, a villainess daughter in a world similar to an otome game.
Tetsuya Takeuchi directs the series with series composition written by Shingo Irie, character designs by Haruka Matsunae, monster designs by Yuki Miyamoto and prop designs by Ryo Hirata, all at anime production house Ajia-do Animation Works. The music will be composed by Natsumi Tabuchi, Misaki Tsuchida, Tsugumi Tanaka, Reiko Abe and Kaho Sawada. The series is set to premiere on January 9 in Japan, with HIDIVE set to stream it in English.
