Nintama Rantaro Anime Film Reveals New Visual Featuring Hansuke Doi, Tenki

The official website for Gekijouban Nintama Rantaro Dokutake Ninja-tai Saikyou no Gunshi (“Nintama Rantaro the Movie: The Strongest Strategist of the Dokutake Ninja Squad”), an upcoming theatrical film for the long-running Nintama Rantaro anime series, posted a new visual featuring Hansuke Doi and Tenki.Hansuke Doi is a first-year Ha-class teacher, and Tenki is a military commander of the Dokutake ninja squad, who looks exactly like Hansuke. The two stand back-to-back in a visual that contrastingly emphasizes black and white, reminiscent of light and darkness.Additionally, the site confirmed that Toshihiko Seki, the original voice cast of Hansuke Doi, also voices Tenki in the film. Nintama Rantaro is based on Sobe Amako’s slapstick comedy manga series Rakudai Ninja Rantaro. Its story involves ninja trainees who enter a ninjutsu academy with the aim of becoming first-class ninja. The original manga ran in the Asahi Shogakusei Shimbun for 33 years from April 1986 to October 2019. The manga’s TV anime adaptation began airing in 1993, and its latest 32nd season is now airing on NHK E-television every Monday through Friday.Dokutake Ninja-tai Saikyou no Gunshi is the anime series’ first feature film in 13 years since Ninjutsu Gakuen Zenin Shutsudou no Dan (“Ninjutsu Academy: All Hands on Deck! Chapter”) in 2011. It is based on a spin-off novel of the same name written by Kazuhisa Sakaguchi and published in 2013.The story begins when Doi-sensei disappears after heading off to a duel challenged by the tasogaredoki ninja Moroizumi Sonnamon. While Yamada-sensei and the 6th graders of the Ninjutsu Academy search for Doi-sensei, a man dressed in white suddenly appears at the Academy!Gekijouban Nintama Rantaro Dokutake Ninja-tai Saikyou no Gunshi will open in Japan on December 20, 2024.
