Ahead of Season 2’s January 2025 premiere and subsequent simulcast on Crunchyroll, the official accounts for The Apothecary Diaries today unveiled November’s seasonal anime visual, themed around leaves turning red in the fall.

Based on the light novels by Natsu Hyuuga and Touko Shino, The Apothecary Diaries is directed by Norihiko Naganuma (The Ancient Magus’ Bride), who also serves as series composer, and assistant-directed by Akinori Fudesaka (Tsuredure Children) at TOHO animation STUDIO and OLM.

Maomao lived a peaceful life with her apothecary father. Until one day, she’s sold as a lowly servant to the emperor’s palace. But she wasn’t meant for a compliant life among royalty. So when imperial heirs fall ill, she decides to step in and find a cure! This catches the eye of Jinshi, a handsome palace official who promotes her. Now, she’s making a name for herself solving medical mysteries!
