Today, November 22 (in Japan), the opening day of the second chapter’s theatrical screenings, the official website for the Space Battleship Yamato remake anime series released a teaser trailer for “Gunjou no Asteroid” (literally means “Asteroid of the Ultramarine Blue), the third chapter of its latest installment, Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 3199. The clip confirms that the third of the new seven-chapter series (consisting of 26 episodes) will start its theatrical screenings in Japan on April 11, 2025. And the visual is newly-drawn by Kia Asamiya (Silent Möbius), who has served as the image drawing artist for the series.

Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 3199 is based on the feature film Be Forever Yamato (Yamato yo Towa ni in Japan) in 1980, and also includes some elements from the third original TV series Space Battleship Yamato III in 1980-1981. Sci-fi writer Harutoshi Fukui (Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn) serves as general director, series composition and screenplay writer. He has already served as series compositor and screenplay writer for the remake series’ second installment, Space Battleship Yamato 2202, in 2017-2019 and the third installment, Space Battleship Yamato 2205: The New Voyage, in 2021-2022. Meanwhile, Naomichi Yamato (Shin Sekai Yori -From the New World assistant director) serves as director.
