Sony Music Japan’s official YouTube channel began streaming a music video for “Collage” by PUFFY and TOOBOE, the opening theme song for the fall 2024 TV anime The Stories of Girls Who Couldn’t Be Magicians. In the video, memorable scenes from the anime story are colorfully colored with the lyrics of the song.

TOOBOE, a solo project by music creator “john,” who is involved in various creative activities including songwriting, composing, arranging, singing, illustrations and videos, worked on the song’s lyrics and music. Additionally, Japanese pop duo PUFFY, known for the anime series Hi-Hi Puffy AmiYumi, were in charge of singing. The song was released under the unit name “PUFFY to tsuideni TOOBOE” (“PUFFY, and incidentally TOOBOE”).“Collage” released digitally first on October 5, followed by the CD single release on November 20.

The TV anime adaptation of Yuzuki Akasaka’s fantasy novel series The Stories of Girls Who Couldn’t Be Magicians premiered in Japan on October 4, 2024.
