November 23 is the birthday of Macross Frontier songstress Sheryl Nome, but we’re the ones getting the present! Today, it was announced that a new Greatest Hits album will be coming out for the 2008 anime, titled Nyan Nyan Greatest Hits! And just as the news came out on Sheryl’s birthday, the album itself will drop on Ranka Lee’s birthday.The album will be available in three versions: standard edition, limited edition, and Deculture Special Edition. The limited edition will include a bonus song cover and drama CD, on which Ranka and Sheryl sing each other’s iconic songs. The Deculture Special Edition will include this CD, as well as a Blu-ray of past performance, a recording of “Merry Christmas without You,” and an acrylic stand.The album is scheduled to be released on April 29, 2025.
But that’s not all—there’s even more Macross music coming next year!
On May 9th and 10th, 2025, Sankyo will host a two-day concert event to celebrate the 20th career anniversary of May’n, the singing voice of Sheryl Nome. Both events will take place at the Pacifico Yokohama National Convention Hall. May 9th’s show, “With you -Sheryl On Stage-,” will feature May’n performing as Sheryl Nome. The following night’s show, “With you -May’n Space-,” will highlight work from throughout May’n’s career.
Then on July 26th and 27th, Sheryl and Ranka reunited for Macross Frontier Galaxy Live☆Final 2025. The event will feature the return of May’n and Megumi Nakajima as Sheryl and Ranka respectively, and will take place at K-Arena Yokohama. More information will become available on the Macross Official Site as both concert dates approach.
