More live-action Golden Kamuy is on the way, because a sequel to the 2024 Golden Kamuy live-action film has been announced. At the time of this reporting, few details about the new film production have yet been revealed, although it has been confirmed that the main cast from the film and the subsequent 2024 WOWOW TV drama will reprise their roles. Additionally, it has been confirmed that the second film will pick up the story where the TV drama leaves off.

Shueisha serialized the original Golden Kamuy manga by Satoru Noda from August 2014 – April 2022 in their Weekly Young Jump seinen manga magazine. VIZ Media also publishes an English language version. Shigeaki Kubo directs the live-action film adaptation, and Kento Yamazaki and Anna Yamada star as Sugimoto and Asirpa, respectively.
