The agency’s statement reads:
We apologize for the inconvenience and concern caused by Ayane Matsuda’s poor health to everyone concerned and to her fans who support her. After consulting with her doctor, she will take a leave of absence and give priority to medical treatment for the time being.We sincerely apologize again for any inconvenience and concern this may cause to all concerned parties and fans, and ask for your understanding and cooperation.
Matsuda followed up with the following message to fans on her official X (formerly Twitter):
As announced by my agency, I will be taking a hiatus due to my health condition. I truly apologize for any inconvenience and concern this may cause. I will make every effort to recuperate so that I will be able to see you all again in good health. Thank you for your understanding.
Matsuda, now 21, passed the agency’s first voice actor audition in August 2019 and made her voice acting debut in 2021. Her well-known characters include Yayoi Kamiishi in Sound! Euphonium and Ume Hanami in Gakuen Idolmaster.
