Spotify today released various rankings looking back at 2024 based on this year’s listening data, including music and podcasts. For the rankings in Japan this year, Creepy Nuts‘ “Bling-Bang-Bang-Born,” featured as the opening theme for the TV anime MASHLE: MAGIC AND MUSCLES The Divine Visionary Candidate Arc, was the most played song in the country. It previously became the fastest song ever by Japanese artists to reach 100 million, 200 million and 300 million streams on the platform, as well as being #1 on Spotify Japan’s daily charts for 125 consecutive days from January 18 to May 21, 2024.“Bling-Bang-Bang-Born” was also the most-played song by a Japanese artist overseas this year, making it the first song in Spotify history to become the winner in both categories in Japan. As noted in the press release, the song became a viral hit after its debut — particularly in the United States, Central and South America and Spainish-speaking Europe — and reached a high of 52nd place on the global daily charts.”Thank you for making ‘Bling-Bang-Bang-Born’ the most-played domestic and international song on Spotify in 2024,” Creepy Nuts said in a statement. “We are happy that so many people have listened to our music, not only in Japan but all over the world!
