The official X (formerly Twitter) for Japanese publisher TO BOOKS announced today that the upcoming new season of the Ascendance of a Bookworm TV anime is set to premiere in 2026. The news will also be revealed on the wrap-around band of the upcoming third short-story collection book of the novel series to be available in Japan on December 10, 2024. The obi also tells that the total number of copies of the series printed has surpassed 11 million.
Miya Kazuki’s isekai fantasy light novel series Ascendance of a Bookworm has released 33 volumes of its main series, one volume of its spin-off series, and two volumes of short story collection from TO BOOKS since 2015. The novel’s anime adaptation has so far aired for three seasons from 2019 to 2022. Production of a new season was announced just one year ago.The new season will adapt the novel’s “Part 3: Adopted Daughter of an Archduke” arc. In place of Ajia-do Animation Works, which handled the previous three seasons, WIT STUDIO (Attack on Titan) will newly work on anime production.Crunchyroll, which is streaming all the previous three seasons, describes Ascendance of a Bookworm:
