Mononoke the Movie: Hinezumi, the second film in the planned trilogy that continues the story of the 2006 Mononoke TV anime, has published a new trailer and a new piece of key art (below). The film hits theaters in Japan on March 14, 2025.

Kenji Nakamura directs Mononoke the Movie: Hinezumi at animation studio Twin Engine EOTA. Kitsuneko Nagata provides the original character designs, Yuuichi Takahashi provides the animation character designs and serves as chief animation director, and Taku Iwasaki provides the music. The first film in the trilogy currently streams on Netflix.

In feudal Japan, evil spirits known as mononoke plague both households and the countryside. Only one person has the power to kill them where they stand: the Medicine Seller.
