Back in July, the nominees were announced for The Astra Awards’ first-ever Best Anime Series category. Nominees included Blue Eye Samurai, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Ninja Kamui, Pluto, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off and Solo Leveling. The awards have now been revealed, and Solo Leveling took the honors with lead English dub actor Aleks Le accepting the award onstage. After Le’s speech, a video popped up with comments from Solo Leveling director Shunsuke Nakashige and Aniplex producer Sota Furuhashi.
Following the first 12-episode season in 2024, Solo Leveling Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow- is set to premiere in January 2025. Ahead of that, the first two episodes debuted as part of the Solo Leveling -ReAwakening- anime movie.Shunsuke Nakashige will continue to direct the new season at A-1 Pictures. The anime adapts the Korean webtoon series of the same name by DUBU (REDICE Studio), Chugong and h-goon.Crunchyroll will stream the new season when it premieres, and describes the first season:
